Context
SATEC has developed the Monitor_IA-5G project within the framework of the UNICO 5G R&D program, promoted by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation. This program, part of the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan funded by the European Union's Next Generation funds, aims to drive digital transformation through research, development, and innovation in advanced technologies such as 5G and 6G.
Monitor_IA-5G focuses on creating a next-generation network observation platform to enhance the ability of 5G and 6G networks to proactively detect and respond to events and anomalies, strengthening the efficiency and reliability of these critical infrastructures.

Challenge
Before implementing Monitor_IA-5G, next-generation networks faced significant challenges that compromised their ability to deliver optimal performance. Existing solutions could not effectively address the complexities and demands of 5G and future 6G technologies, including:
Late problem detection
The networks lacked tools to detect failures or anomalies early, resulting in a reactive rather than proactive response.
Limitations in data processing capacity
Previous solutions could not efficiently handle the large volumes of data generated by NGN networks, affecting the accuracy and speed of event detection.
Dependence on traditional technologies
The networks relied on outdated monitoring methodologies, insufficient to meet the speed, reliability, and scalability requirements of 5G and 6G networks.
Need for technological adaptation
The evolution to next-generation networks required a solution that could dynamically adapt to new demands, which existing tools failed to achieve.
Solution
To address these challenges, SATEC implemented Monitor_IA-5G, a platform specifically designed for observing and monitoring NGN networks.
To address these challenges, SATEC implemented Monitor_IA-5G, a platform specifically designed for observing and monitoring NGN networks.
This solution is based on a robust data architecture that allows for efficient acquisition, storage, processing, and distribution of state and behavior data from networks.

The choice of this solution was due to its alignment with the project's objectives and SATEC's ability to deliver technology that not only meets the client's current needs but also adapts to the future demands of the technological environment. The design, implementation, and configuration process involved close collaboration between SATEC's team and project leaders at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, ensuring a smooth and efficient integration of the solution.
Results
The implementation of Monitor_IA-5G has yielded tangible and significant results, improving the operability and efficiency of networks. Thanks to this solution, significant advancements have been made in the ability of networks to operate more securely and reliably.
Improvement in early event detection
The platform has facilitated public access to oceanographic and meteorological data, providing an accessible and effective tool for disseminating critical information about sea conditions.
Optimization of network management
The intuitive graphical interface and georeferencing capabilities have significantly improved how users interact with information, enabling a clearer and more useful visualization of the data.
Increase in service quality
The ability to display real-time data and high-precision predictions has improved users' ability to make informed decisions and better manage activities related to the maritime environment.
Improved flexibility and scalability
It is designed to adapt to future needs, ensuring that 5G and 6G networks maintain their relevance and innovation capacity in the long term.
